The Anatolian lands, which have been inhabited continuously for thousands of years, shed light on the future with the successive civilizations, their lives and their own cultures. Troy, who lived in the Bronze Age at the time of its foundation, is a good example in this matter. This ancient city, which has always lived a life ahead of its age in 3.500 AD, has always been an important centre with its culture and life. After many demolitions seen throughout his long history, Troy was rebuilt on its ashes and it has a reputation that no other city in the world has ever known. Living with Homer’s immortal verses, Troy has survived for generations with its legends, heroes and the battle of epics. In the past, this enchanted city, from Alexander the Great to Mehmed the Conqueror, honoured and visited with many important figures of history, continues to see the respect and interest that it deserves today. During my years as a guide, I took my guests to various historical places and ancient ruins of our country and I had the opportunity to tell them about the unique history of Anatolia. Troy has a speciality among these ruins. Every time I visit Troy, it has created a different excitement over me.

When I started manufacturing silk carpets after years, the unique cultural heritage of our country was my most important source of inspiration. That excitement I had years ago, led me to do a work for Troy. I should have done the best I could for this enchanted city and expressed my emotions and interest. I think you can understand that the best thing I can do is a carpet pattern.
