"It is one of the few epics that has inspired cultures in the world on all continents"
Homer created an immortal masterpiece by bringing together three subjects known as “the Abduction of Helen”, “the War of Troy”, “the Anger of Achilles”, three ancient epics. This epic was first made written by Peisistratos, the King of Athens in 560 BC.
The epic of the Iliad began with the anger of Achilles and ended with the death of Hector. This unique work, consisting of 24 chapters and 16,000 verses, has remained unforgettable until today. The epic of the Iliad tells the last 54 days of this 10-year war.
Another major work of Homer is the epic of Odyssey, which tells the painful return of Odysseus, the mentor of Achaeans, after the burning and destruction of Troy. The great poems of the famous poet, which has made their mark on world literature, have been the subject of theatre plays for centuries and many visual works have been created. Thanks to him, the most dramatic scene in the history of Anatolia has come to this day without being forgotten.
We, as Korhan Carpet, have made an effort by designing silk carpet that we can show our skills in our field in order to keep this epicedial war that took place in Anatolia in the memory of future generations.

"Troy: The only historical site on Earth that blends archaeology and mythology."
Agamemnon, the King of Mycenae, wanted to reach the gold, silver and copper mines in the Black Sea region rather than the case of his brother Menelaus. He proposed to lead the fleet with 100 ships for the defeat of Troy, which prevented himself to reach Black Sea. Menelaus, whose wife had eloped to Troy, will participate with 60 ships on this expedition. Other kingdoms joined with their ships and soldiers to the expedition in compliance with their forces. The ships that are ready for the expedition await the orders of Agamemnon.
When the departure was finally ordered, the wind was suddenly broken. According to seers, Artemis is preventing winds because Agamemnon has hunted the sacred deer of Artemis during a hunt. The remedy recommended by the seer Calchas for the resumption of the wind was that Agamemnon sacrifices his daughter Iphigeneia to Artemis.
Agamemnon, who finished all his preparations, is desperate. He accepts that his daughter be sacrificed with sorrow, in front of the army of hundreds of thousands of people which awaits for his orders. His daughter, Iphigeneia, is brought to Aulis under cover of marrying Achilles. His wife and daughter, who find out about this horrible plan, are thunderstruck. As Agamemnon is about to sacrifice his daughter, Artemis can’t stand it; she takes Iphigeneia out to the heaven and puts a deer in her place.
"Troy is where the world’s first beauty contest was held"
While living happily in Ida Mountain, Paris is included in one of the most interesting stories of mythology. In the end, Zeus found a clever solution to this difficult situation. Zeus said that he found each one very beautiful, and that he could not make a choice, and that this choice must be made by a mortal. This mortal was Paris, who was a shepherd at the Mount of Ida and appointed as arbitrator by the chief god Zeus.In the hope that the election will be on their side, the three beauties and Hermes, god of the communication, find Paris resting under a tree in the mountain of Ida. Hermes informed Zeus’s instructions to Paris and gave him the golden apple he brought to Paris. Paris, who was both surprised and excited about this task, began to examine these three goddesses, each with their own beauty. Seeing that the young arbitrator was hesitant, Hera whispered to him immediately that he could become the king of Asia if he chose herself. Seeing Hera trying to deceive Paris, Athena presented mind and success to this indecisive mortal. Aphrodite, who wanted to go in front of her rivals, she promised the most beautiful woman in the world, if Paris chose herself. Paris was confused by these beauties and what they promised. Paris, who thought for a while, made a decision with the excitement of his youth and gave the golden apple to Aphrodite, who offered the most attractive offer. Paris had chosen Aphrodite as the most beautiful. The most beautiful woman in the world was Helen, wife of Menelaus of Sparta. While Paris still doesn’t know it, Aphrodite would keep her promise and Paris’s fate would soon cross with this beautiful woman. Neither Paris nor the fate of Troy could change upon these events. In the same period, competitions started in Troy, and Paris participated in these competitions. The people of Troy had fun in these competitions and Paris had the first place. But the young man, known to all as a shepherd, was recognized by Cassandra, the seer daughter of King Priam. Although Cassandra had told that it was Paris that had been left to Ida Mountain years ago and that he would bring disaster to the city, King Priam and Queen Hecabe had embraced Paris with the excitement of coming together with their son. Troy now began to experience the fate that the Gods drew for it.
